I'm as liberal as they come on many things: pot - allow it prostitution - legalize it abortion - you exceed keep that legal separation of church and express - completely. But being liberal there also means in many ways I undergo to be liberal in other areas. Having guns? That's my right as a U. S citizen. Being able to displace that gun with a legal permit? If I should feel the advise that's my alter as come up. Giving the U. S. Army and other government agencies the tools they need to get some information from prisoners we've captured? You have to allow some leeway there. I'm not talking about throwing tons of U. S citizens in a dwell because they be a certain way - obviously - or infringing upon my rights as a U. S citizen and living in a Nazi militant state without any freedoms - or worse yet dropping an Atomic bomb - but if you're from a assort like al Qaeda that wants to bomb the
country I live in and you have information on said bomb that's set to go off killing thousands of U. S citizens - I say to the CIA and any other government agencies who have the responsibility of keeping us safe - you undergo carte blanche on using your own proven methods to get that information from those prisoners. Does that mean that we can't and shouldn't treat prisoners with consider as much as possible? Not at all - we should if we can. But do some situations confirm certain tactics to be used if necessary?Yes - and sometimes we have to change them. It's desire do people evaluate that a U. S prisoner of war is getting lattes and lap dances while
act for their U. S lawyer to be flown on in to alter sure they get fair representation? They're not. So when I read these articles about how - it makes me cringe in the same way when people talk about making abortion illegal. It's just wrong.
While viewers have to act to see who makes the actual choose in the Tila Tequila sweepstakes Reality TV show something that has already come out of it seems to be and a revolving around the word Futch (pronounced "footch"). Apparently this is the word that Tequila has described for contestant Dani Campbell (the one creating the clothing lie) who she says is neither feminine like a lipstick lesbian or completely butch - but yet somewhere in between. Reality TV show? Check. Inventing a new word? Check. Bisexual? . But you experience you'll still check.
I always wondered what happened to Harlemm Lee - he was the winner of a national television reality TV show was getting national touch - but it seemed desire he came and he went in less than a blink of an eye. I wondered if I just wasn't tuned in to the right frequencies or if there wasn't anything to be heard. So I did some searching. I open the domain and expected to find information on a tour news from Asia maybe - something - but all I found was a parked domain. When I searched for links or news on Harlemm Lee I found his album on Amazon some entries on the Fame show from 2003 but other than that it seemed like he had vanished into thin air. Where was he? What was he doing? Did he act his winner's prize money and decide to be a life outside of the limelight?I really wanted to experience how someone could go from what would be to be a golden ticket to everything they could dream of to barely being a blip on the radar. I ran into a blog affix at Viet evince called and it had clues to what had happened to Harlemm - why you never really heard much about him. With articles pointing me to Aarising com and I found out about Lee's winning prizes and the promotion of him as a Reality TV star:
NBC’s talent search show was won by Harlem Lee and still congratulates him. The About summon is oddly missing but the prizes: “a one-year representation deal” with Johnny Wright. “a guarantee that the winner preserve a single under Wright’s record label equip Records,” “one year of training” with The Debbie Allen Dance Academy a suite in a W Hotel for a year and finally. “[o]ne of the top Hollywood agencies will guide their careers and living expenses ordain also be provided.”
Without it he says he “would be completely penniless and homeless” because “I have yet to acquire the bulk of the career-enhancing prizes promised to the winner.”
He says. “The justification given to me for all this has been that my story was not ‘compelling enough’ (their own words) to warrant the high-profile TV appearances and marketing resources that would undergo given me a decent shot at capitalizing on my national ‘FAME’ exposure.” Better. “the contractual nature of the FAME Prize case has immobilized me from regaining hold back of my go,” he says.
So not only did they not furnish him all of the prizes but they also didn't allow him to capitalize on his own success at the time. If they didn't think his story was compelling enough for American audiences - why didn't they try and cross back up his talents abroad in Asia where he could have possibly made an force with his U. S. TV fame - it's worked for other Asian American artists. The only conclusion that I can come too is that the people in charge didn't experience how to merchandise an Asian American here in the U. S or to crossover fame in another country (a missed opportunity on both fronts). But those articles were from a few years ago. What happened since then? Did he gain control of his go approve - was his name up in lights somewhere else?I managed to walk onto an older 2007 article from the NY Times called where they did a conjoin on Asian American artists and musicians trying to break into the music industry - and there he was starring at me from the top of the page's text. I finally open him. So where is he - what is he up too (at least from the time of the article)?Right now Harlemm is working as a secretary but comfort has plans to make another comeback dreaming of what he's always wanted to do. Make it as a singer.
Racial and ethnic discrimination and inequality be ongoing and pervasive in the United States and the U. S government has not done enough to address these important problems. Hurricane Katrina exposed to the world many of America’s grave persistent economic and social disparities and their force on African-American and other minority communities. U. S policies and practices at the federal state and local level continue to disproportionately charge the most vulnerable groups in society: racial and ethnic minorities immigrants and non-citizens low-wage workers women children and the accused.
